Northern Syria. Hala, a young arab woman, flees her hometown of Manbij to escape the IS. After some months, Hala returns with women of the Kurdish movement to her hometown to help build a free society, in which women ́s empowerment plays a significant role. She encounters resistance on all sides: from the traditional, patriarchal society, her family and even her own liberation movement.

A letter from Raqqa
A revolutionary goes voluntarily to fight in the North of Syria. He thinks he knows why he is there and what he should do when he is facing with the brutality of war. Through the pictures of the Syrian people who were living once in those areas, he is questioning his presence there while searching for the people’s destiny.
The Crematorium Berlin Baumschulenweg is separated into two parts. On the top level, a bright sacred room in which the funeral ceremonies take place and on the lower level, where the burning is absolved. Robot-like machines with long grasping arms care for the extinction of the dead bodies, so that no human contact with the dead has to happen.

The friend (cinematography and production)
The film tells the story of Nino, a young immigrant from Georgia, who lives with her son Luca in Berlin. After being fired from her job as a waitress, she meets a mysterious Frenchman in a park in Berlin. He listens to her story and seems to be the only person who understands her situation. She progressively becomes a slave to the emotional state of his ideas and comes to the conclusion that the only way to heal her own wounds is to inflict pain upon someone else.
